CÁTALOGO
Croto Punctatum
Is a vibrant and popular tropical plant, prized for its narrow, elongated leaves covered with small yellow speckles that resemble splashes of gold. Valued for its air-purifying qualities and resilience, it is an excellent choice for containers and well-lit interior spaces.
Key Characteristics & Care
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light; high light levels are essential to keep the yellow speckles vibrant. It can tolerate some direct morning sun, but strong midday sun may scorch the leaves.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained; allow the top 0.5–1 inch (1–2 cm) of soil to dry between waterings. It does not tolerate complete drying, which may cause leaf drop.
Humidity:
Requires moderate to high humidity. In heated or air-conditioned environments, misting the leaves or using a humidifier is recommended to prevent brown leaf tips.
Temperature:
Maintain in a warm environment, ideally between 18–27°C (65–80°F). It is very sensitive to cold and should be kept away from drafts below 15°C (59°F).
Pruning:
Responds well to tip pruning to encourage denser, bushier growth. Care should be taken when cutting, as the white sap released is irritating.
