About Us
Our History
CAPOSA is a Salvadoran agricultural company founded in 1991 by the Cartagena and Pocasangre families, with more than 30 years of experience in the propagation, production, and export of ornamental plants and foliage.
From the beginning, CAPOSA was a family-driven venture focused on agricultural activities, guided by a deep connection to the land and a spirit of continuous learning. Over the years, the company has reinvented itself, adapting to changes in both the production environment and the market, much like nature evolves to survive.
The first crops were not suitable for the altitude and terrain conditions, which led the company to make strategic adjustments in its production.
CAPOSA transitioned into new crops that allowed it to gain technical knowledge and experience. However, later changes in market prices led to another production shift.
A key milestone in the company’s history was its participation in the international trade show TPIE (Tropical Plant International Expo), where commercial relationships were established that enabled the production of Schefflera Mini Arboricola.
Thanks to this project, CAPOSA became the largest producer of this plant worldwide, strengthening its export profile.
During this period, the company exported plants to international markets such as the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Japan, and Guatemala, making exports its main source of revenue.
What Makes CAPOSA Different
CAPOSA stands out for its track record, adaptability, and genuine commitment to quality and the environment, supported by more than three decades of experience in the agricultural sector.
“We guide our work by values such as quality, commitment, consistency, and trust, maintaining honest and close relationships with our clients.”
At CAPOSA, we believe that producing also means caring. Our work goes beyond cultivation: we are in the business of giving life, protecting the environment, and actively contributing to air purification through our plants, in a region where intensive agriculture, agro-industry, and urban development have reduced green spaces.
